Shocking! Air India Plane carrying 179 passengers hits building at Stockholm's Arlanda airport; no injuries reported

Yet in another incident, an Air India flight struck a building wall at Stockholm's Arlanda airport with its wingtip as it taxied to gate on Wednesday. The plane was reportedly carrying 179 passengers, however as per reports, no injuries were reported.

"The 179 passengers could disembark from the plane on a mobile staircase and thereafter enter the terminal," police wrote in a statement.


Although the cause of the accident was not immediately known, police said. The accident occurred at 5:45 pm (1645 GMT), about 50 meters (yards) from Terminal 5, the main terminal for international flights.

The pictures out from the scene showed the Boeing aircraft, which originated from New Delhi, parked on the runway with the tip of its left wing stuck in the side of a building, reported IndianExpress. Fire trucks and several police cars have been rushed to the spot.

According to airport operator Swedavia's website, the flight had originated in New Delhi.
