Shocking! 66-year-old retired banker falls in love with a newly found Facebook girlfriend; conned of Rs 35 lakh

The love with the Facebook friend cost a 66-year-old former banker heavily when he was duped of Rs 35 lakh by a Facebook friend. She claimed that she was travelling from London to meet him.

The retired bank official, who is a resident of the DLF1 area, not only part with Rs 13 lakh of his savings but also acquired a loan of Rs 22 lakh from private lenders to provide a help to his newly found girlfriend. But the girl claimed that she was detained by immigrants’ officials for lack of documents.


The story started when on May 19, the man, who is still a bachelor, got a friend request from a girl who identified herself as Jenny Anderson, on Facebook. He accepted it.
The woman asked for his Whats App number during casual facebook chat and began chatting with him on WhatsApp.

“Jenny claimed she was single and lived with her mother in London, where she also owned a jewellery shop, Further, she said she travelled to different countries including Indian, often to procure gold,” the man was quoted by the Times of India as saying.

The girl also asked for his home address, promising that she wanted to send him some gifts. He gave her his address but refused to travel to London since she was alone.

On Many 29, informing him on whats App that she was traveling to India, she said “Jenny said she would board the flight on June 1. She further said she would land in Mumbai and then take a connecting flight to Delhi, where she was supposed stay for a week before leaving for Dubai”.
