After being denied his preferred seat in Bihar, Union Minister Giriraj Singh has expressed his concern over the party’s decision to change his traditional seat of Nawada, in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls of 2019.

BJP, while announcing the candidates for the seats in Bihar, reshuffled the seat of Giriraj Singh from traditional Nawada to Begusarai. The sitting MP from Nawada has stated that only his seat has been changed in Bihar amongst the sitting parliamentarians and that the BJP did not consult him before the change of plans.

Giriraj Singh told news agency ANI, “My self respect is hurt that no other MP's seat was changed in Bihar. It was decided without talking to me. State BJP leadership should tell me why was it done. I've nothing against Begusarai but I can't compromise with my self respect.”

In the seat sharing deal between the BJP-JDU and LJP, the Nawada seat has gone to Ram Vilas Pasawn led Lok Jan Shakti Party. And, Paswan’s son Chirag Paswan has said over the matter, “I do not wish to cause Giriraj-ji any grief, but I think we have gone too far now to revisit the decision.”

The contest of Begusarai Lok Sabha seat will be high as former JNU Student Union president Kanhaiya Kumar has been fielded by the CPI and BJP’s Giriraj Singh would add on to the interesting poll battle.
