On Eid, the second ceasefire violation along the Pakistan LoC in 12 hours

In a second incident in 12 hours, the Pakistan army targetted the Indian side of the border with a firing. This comes at the heels of a series of ceasefire violations that have been taking place at the Jammu and Kashmir border in the past few days. This attack took place in the Shah Pur Kerni area of Poonch.

The PTI report mentions the attack took place today at 1:50 pm. The Indian side, it has been reported, responded to the attack. The first attack took place at Rajouri district sector of Naushera at around 9:25 pm on 17 July. There have no loss of lives on the Indian side.

Earlier violations

5 July: A Border Security Force jawan was killed Nougam due to Pakistani firing.

9 July: Another BSF jawan was the casualty in the firing from the Pakistan side.

15 July: Seven casualties, among them one woman were reported along with injuries to two BSF jawans in mortar shelling in Jammu by Pakistan Rangers.
