Rohit Shekhar Tiwari, a man who fought for his rights for a six-year-long in court to prove that he was ND Tiwari's son, has died in Delhi hospital. The police confirmed the death of Rohit Shekhar Tiwari.

"Rohit Shekhar Tiwari, son of late former Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand CM ND Tiwari, has been brought dead to Max Saket hospital. Further details are awaited," a senior police official was quoted by news agency ANI.

The hospital in a statement said, “Max Hospital received an emergency call from the residence of Rohit Shekhar Tiwari at 04:41 pm this afternoon. An ambulance brought Mr Tiwari to Max Hospital, Saket, where he was declared ‘’brought dead’’ at the hospital emergency. As per established procedure, we have informed the authorities.”

Rohit had filed a paternity suit against his father ND Tiwari, who had denied that he was his son. ND Tiwari was directed by the court to give his blood sample for a DNA test in 2012. Though he denied, he relented later.

In 2014, Rohit Shekhar won his long battle when the Delhi High Court had declared ND Tiwari as his biological father after the senior leader accepted that he was indeed his son.

Later, the court has injucted Tiwari from denying in public that Shekhar was his biological born son. In the same year, ND Tiwari, at the age of 88, had married Rohit Shekhar Tiwari's mother.

In 2017, ND Tiwari had quit Congress and joined the BJP at party chief Amit Shah's residence in Delhi. His son Rohit Shekhar had also joined the BJP.
