Reports of Army Jawan Mohammad Yaseen abducted by terrorists in Budgam 'fake': Defence Ministry

Army soldier Mohammad Yaseen abducted by terrorists in Budgam district of Jammu and Kashmir reports has been making round since yesterday. Following the reports, the Defence Ministry on Saturday rubbishing the reports called it ‘fake’. According to the Defence Spokesperson Twitter handle, “the individual is safe.”

“Media reports of the abduction of a serving Army soldier on leave from Qazipora, Chadoora, Budgam are incorrect. The individual is safe. Speculations may please be avoided,” Defence Ministry spokesperson tweeted. The ministry confirmed that the Individual is safe and asked the media not to spread the speculations.


On Friday evening an unconfirmed report claimed that Yaseen, an Indian Army jawan of Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry (JAKLI) Unit was kidnapped by terrorists from his residence in Budgen's Qazipora Chador in Jammu and Kashmir. Yaseen was on leave from Qazipora, Chadoora, Budgam district.

According to reports, the family of Mohammad Yaseen informed police that some people came to their house at Qazipora Chadura and took him away.
