Aam Aadmi Party worker Jagroop Singh was allegedly shot dead by a Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader over a property dispute in Punjab's Bhinder Kalan village, police said on 26 September.

According to a PTI report, the accused has been identified as Sarpanch Jagsir Singh. Another person was also injured in the incident, police said.

The two have been reportedly been at loggerheads over a land dispute for the last 12 years, police said.

A case of murder has been registered against Jagsir. The injured is undergoing treatment at a hospital.

According to a report in The Tribune, senior AAP leader HS Phoolka met the family members of the deceased party worker and demanded stern action against the accused in the case.
