PM Modi to launch these big projects in Arunachal Pradesh during his visit to the north-eastern state; read details

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be going to inaugurate several projects in Arunachal Pradesh during his visit to the north-eastern state on Saturday, said officials.

During his visit to Arunachal Pradesh, PM Modi likely to lay the foundation stone for many vital schemes.


As per the reports, Arunachal Pradesh will be going to get its first dedicated 24x7 television channel, DD Arunprabha at the Doordarshan Kendra (DDK) in Itanagar on Saturday.

Besides, TV channel, PM Modi will also be going to lay the foundation stone of a green field Airport at Hollongi which has been pending for several years due to controversies over site selection. As Arunachal Pradesh only states in the country which doesn’t have a full-fledged airport.

At an initial stage, Karsingsa was chosen as the location for the airport but due to some technical issues, then the Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and the Airports Authority of India (AAI) had asked to look for another location.

On Saturday, PM Modi will also inaugurate a retrofitted airport at Tezu in Lohit district besides a 110 MW hydroelectric project, Arun Praba channel of Doordarshan. Also, 50 health and wellness centre will also be opened on the same day in the state.

A Film and Television Institute at Jote and seven electric substations under Comprehensive Scheme will also be launch by the Prime Minister, as per officials.
