PM Modi Swearing-in: PM Modi pays tribute to jawans at National War Memorial

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to take oath for the second consecutive term today in the evening. Hours before sewaring-in as Prime Minister, Narendra Modi paid tribute to jawans at the National War Memorial. He was accompained by Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. He also met the three service chiefs at the memorial.

Army Chief Gen. Bipin Rawat, Navy Chief Admiral Sunil Lanba and Vice Chief of Air Force Air Marshal RKS Bhadauria also present.

Earlier, PM Modi also visited Raj Ghat and paid his repect to Atal Bihari Vajpayee at Sadaiv Atal Samadhi and Mahatma Gandhi. He was accompanied by top leaders including party chief Amit Shah, Ravi Shankar Prasad, Maneka Gandhi, Smriti Irani and JP Nadda accompanied PM Modi to Atal Bihari Vajpayee's memorial.


In PM Modi's swearing-in the government has invited leaders of BIMSTEC countries to attend the swearing-in. Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena, Nepal Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, President of Bangladesh Abdul Hamid, President of Myanmar U Win Myint and Bhutanese Prime Minister Lotay Tshering will be part of the historic moment, including Thailand's special envoy Grisada Boonrach. Earlier in the day, Foreign Secretary Vijay Gokhle received Prime Minister of Bhutan, Lotay Tshering on his arrival in Delhi.
