Winter Session Day 3: Both Houses of Parliament adjourned till Monday

Day three of the Winter Session in Parliament witnessed a choppy beginning as the Opposition created chaos in the Rajya Sabha over demonetisation.

The Bharatiya Janata Party asserted that the Congress party needs to apologise to the country for the controversial remarks made by Ghulam Nabi Azad.

Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a meeting with senior ministers of his government in his chamber in Parliament.

According to media reports, Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, Minister of Urban Development Venkaiah Naidu, and Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Anant Kumar were present in the meeting.

On day 2 of the Winter Session, both Houses were adjourned as a united Opposition demanded a debate on demonetisation, including voting, which was rejected by the government.

Opposition parties attacked the Centre saying the demonetisation move has hit the poor and the marginalised.
