Park Street Rape case: Key accused Kader Khan arrested in Delhi

The key accused in the Park Street rape case, Kader Khan, was arrested in Delhi on Thursday night.

According to emerging reports, the Kolkata Police nabbed Khan along with his accomplice Muhammad Ali. An official statement is yet to be released. The police will produce him in court today and seek a transit remand.

The three other accused have been jailed for 10 years

The Park Street incident took place on 6 February, 2012, when Suzette Jordan was raped inside a moving vehicle by five persons. Khan had been absconding ever since the incident.

On 10 December, 2015, a Kolkata city sessions court found all five accused guilty. They have been convicted under 120 (B) (Criminal conspiracy), 506 (criminal intimidation), 323 (Voluntarily Causing Hurt), 34 (Common intention), 376 (2) (g) (Gang Rape). The three accused in custody will be given sentences on 11 December, 2015.
