Pakistani Rangers have once again resorted to heavy shelling and firing in the Nowshera sector of Jammu and Kashmir, forcing Indian security forces to indulge in cross firing.

According to media reports, one jawan killed in the ceasefire violation.

The unprovoked cross border firing had resulted in the death of Naik Tupare Rajendra Narayan on Sunday at the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch Sector.

The last rites of slain soldier Naik Rajendra Narayan Tupare of the Maratha Light infantry were performed at Majle-Karve village in Maharashtra's Kolhapur district on Tuesday.

Another soldier - Gurusevek Singh - from Punjab's Taran Taran district also lost his life in the attack.

The village is observing a spontaneous shutdown for the next two days as mark of respect for the dead soldier and to register its protest against Pakistan for repeatedly violating cease-fire norms established in November 2003.
