National Security Advisor Ajit Doval in an address to the nation at Sardar Patel Memorial lecture has said that ‘India is not governed by the political representatives rather by the laws that are made those representatives and therefore the rule of law is extremely important.’

Doval is speaking at a lecture series at Sardar Patel Memorial, where he even said that “The populist measures shouldn't take precedence over national requirements. It is a temptation that is you take the thing or you refrain from doing the thing which are in the national interest. But probably for a short time they may cause some pain to the people.”

Ajit Doval pressed for a cause to support decisions and policies being framed out in national interest, as it is the need of the hour. He said, “The populist measures shouldn't take precedence over national requirements. It is a temptation that is you take the thing or you refrain from doing the thing which are in the national interest. But probably for a short time they may cause some pain to the people.”

Doval praised the Chinese government in supporting startup companies like Alibaba. He said, “See how China's Alibaba and others have become big companies, how much Chinese govt has supported them. We want the Indian pvt sector companies should perform and promote Indian strategic interest.”

He gave a trick for Indian economy to become one of the world’s leading and major power, where he exclaimed that “If we have to become a major power then our economy has to be big, it has to be globally competitive and that can be only when it is technologically ahead.”
