The Met department has warned that the national capital could see a thunderstorm and hailstorm at some places of the country over the next three to four days.

Director General of IMD, LS Rathore said that a western disturbance is active over the North west India which will cause a thunderstorm with strong winds and isolated hailstorm.

The IMD warning says that a thunderstorm and hailstorm will occur in Bihar, Jharkhand and the Gangetic West Bengal on 13 and 14 March.

The Met department has issued an advisory to the farmers to undertake harvesting of matured crops at the earliest and postpone irrigation. They have also been advised to keep harvested produce in safer place and maintain proper drainage channels.

Interestingly, the now controversial World Culture Festival - organised by the Sri Sri Ravishankar-helmed Art of Living Foundation - is scheduled to be held in Delhi from 11 - 13 March. And over 30 lakh people are expected to attend the event which is being held on the banks of the Yamuna.

The IMD warning is bound to add to the woes of the organisers of the grand event.
