Senior Congress leader and former Union Minister Kapil Sibal on Sunday said that there is a "political match-fixing" between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and Prime Minister Narendra Modi are like 'twins' and 'Jumla' brothers.

"Congress and TRS criticise each other on the stage but actually they support each other. Like match-fixing in cricket they are involved in political match-fixing among themselves, which the people of the state know very well," said Sibal here while addressing media persons.

"Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has always supported the BJP. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Rao are like twins and 'jumla' brothers. Rao has not spoken a word on the rising fuel prices, Rafale deal as he doesn't want to displease the BJP," added the Congress leader.

He said that 75 per cent of Telangana population is living below the poverty line and 75 per cent of farmers have taken the loan from the private money lenders as the banks and the state government have failed to provide them with the loans.

Sibal said that the TRS government led by Rao has reneged on its promises and has done nothing for the state due to which Telangana has plunged into poverty and debt. "Where is the development in Telangana? Thousands of schools were closed in the state during the rule of TRS," he said.

"Not only this. The dropout rate is the highest among girls in the state. 19 lakh youth are unemployed. TRS failed to open 100-bed hospitals in assembly constituencies and super-specialty hospital in every district as has been promised," added Sibal.

Telangana Assembly elections are on December 7 while the counting of votes will take place on December 11.
