Mumbai: 14-year-old girl flees home to meet Tik Tok star in Nepal; police tracks her down within hours

In a weird incident reported from Mumbai, a teenager girl, a Tik Tok addict ran from her house to meet a video making app celeb. The 14-year-old Mumbai girl left her home to meet a 16-year-old Tik Tok star Riaz Afreen, who lives in Nepal.

The girl also penned an emotional lettr to her parents, vowing to never come back. In the letter, the girl also mentioned that she is not running away from home in love with a man but to become self-sufficient, reported Dainik Jagran.


Soon after the parents found a letter, they filed a complaint with the police, who caught the girl within 8-hours. After interrogation, they came to know that she fled her home to meet a 16-year-old Tik Tok star Riaz Afreen, who lives in Nepal.

The teenager in her letter wrote, 'Mummy, I am leaving the house. I am very unhappy with Baba (father). Do not think too much about me. And swear by God that you will not commit suicide for this reason. If you are thinking that I have left the house to settle with a boy, then, you are wrong. I'm not going with any boy.

The girl was disgruntled with her father, who she claimed never allowed her to interact with boys, the police found. She also said that her father once scolded her for talking to one of her male friends. Hence, she wanted to leave home to avoid such restrictions imposed by her father.

"Every other person has a mobile phone today. In the recent past, the Blue Whale challenge, Kiki car challenge and now TikTok have become an entertainment tool for the youth and schoolchildren. In order to attain instant fame and validation from peers with likes and shares, they end up making viral videos on social media," Dr Rajeev Mehta, Vice Chairman of the psychiatry department at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital said on Tik Tok addiction.
