Mumbai: Blast in Thane’s Kashimira road after unidentified man throws plastic ball filled with explosives

A low-intensity blast occurred at Kashimira road in Mumbai’s Thane after an unidentified person allegedly threw a plastic ball filled with explosives on Wednesday. The police reached the spot and found traces of plastic bottle, metal balls, and locally made jute fuse.

A motorbike rider on the busy road near Thakur Mall on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad national highway at Dahisar reported TOI.


According to a tweet by ANI, the incident took place around 10 am. However, no casualties or damage to property has been reported so far.

According to initial reports, it was a very small device that was even incapable to injure an individual. An investigation into the incident is currently underway.

"Our Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad present on the spot. Anti-Terror Squad also there. Samples will be sent to forensic," SP Thane (rural) said, adding, an offence has been registered, investigation going on.
