In a failure of holding law and order by the security officials in Madhya Pradesh’s Barwani District, a rape convict ran away from the courtroom when he was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment. He was found guilty by the court in a rape of minor and he was also fined Rs 7,000.

Soon after the verdict was given, the convict ran away. Security officials failed to nab him. The incident took place at a local court in Barwani district last evening.

28-year-old Vijay Solanki was out on bail. He ran away after hearing his punishment ten years in jail. After attempts to nab him went in vain, the court employee registered a complaint with the police, said station in-charge Rajesh Yadav.

An order has been issued to find and arrest Vijay Solanki.

Solanki had been booked by Rajpur police station for raping a minor in 2015, according to the police.

The incident is being seen as the failure of upholding law and order by the Madhya Pradesh police.
