Louis Berger bribery case: Goa crime branch begins investigation

The crime branch of Goa police has begun investigating the bribe scam in the water development projects which happened under during congress regime in the state.

AM Wachasundar, former chief engineer in the Goa Public Works Department (PWD) and project director of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), a company which is among the group of companies behind the project was summoned by the agency on 21 July.

Earlier, Goa Chief Minister Lakshmikant Parsekar had summoned him on 20 July and asked for a report on the matter within one day.

Churchill Alemao, who was the PWD minister at that time, claimed that it was a political conspiracy by BJP government to malign his image.
