Poonam Sinha, wife of Shatrughan Sinha, to contest against Rajnath Singh from Lucknow
Poonam Sinha, wife of Shatrughan Sinha, is all set to contest the Lok Sabha polls of 2019 from Lucknow, against Home Minister Rajnath Singh.
Poonam Sinha will be contesting polls on the ticket of Samajwadi Party, and she will be supported by Mayawati’s BSP.
Sidelined BJP leader Shatrughan Sinha, whose parliamentary seat was handed over to BJP's Ravi Shankar Prasad, is all set to join the Congress party wherein he will be handed over the traditional Patna Saheb seat.
In a political debut for Poonam Sinha, the actress-turned politician will be up against BJP's stalwart leader Rajnath Singh, who enjoys the support of the Upper Caste in the Eastern Hindi belt of UP. The capital city holds the key for any party to form its government at the Centre and the SP-BSP-RLD alliance might be a game changer in the UP politics.
