Ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath has launched the poll campaign from Saharanpur Sunday and has targeted the Congress’ candidate Imran Masood, calling him Jaish chief ‘Masood Azhar’s son-in-law.’

Although, Adityanath did not mention the name of the candidate but veiled his attack saying, “Azhar Masood’s son-in-law comes to Saharanpur, and speaks his language. Should someone who speaks Masood’s language be allowed to win from Saharanpur or should the symbol of development and security, Raghav Lakhanpal (the BJP candidate), win?”

Declaring that BJP doesn’t shy away from tackling terrorism and have given a befitting reply to the terror group Jaish-e-Mohammad, Yogi Adityanath praised the BJP government and said, “You must have heard of Osama bin Laden’s name. He was killed brutally. One day, Azhar Masood will be killed in a similar fashion. You don’t worry.”

Alleging that UPA government was inefficient in battling with terrorism and used to ‘fed Biryani to terrorists,’ CM Yogi added, “In the previous governments, terrorists were fed biryani. In our government, terrorists are fed bullets and bombs.”

Earlier, in the 2014 Lok Sabha election, the BJP candidate Lakhanpal had defeated Congress’ Masood by 65,000 votes and the ruling BJP is positive about reiterating the result this time around.

Attacking the Congress president Rahul Gandhi, CM Yogi alleged that Amethi has been the “most backward” constituency since its the home turf of Gandhi scion.

Yogi added, “I was listening to the ‘naamdaron ke kuldeepak’ in Parliament. They said when they will come to power, they will grow a 1.5-foot potato. They think potato is a fruit. They must be told it is not a fruit like mango.”
