Ahead of the Lok Sabha election, Rahul Gandhi is gearing up to counter the BJP and today, while addressing a public in Karnataka, he asked PM Narendra Modi about Jaish chief Masood Azhar’s release from jail.

Mentioning about the deadly Pulama attack, Rahul Gandhi questioned the BJP saying, “Few days ago, our soldiers were martyred in Pulwama. Who sent Masood Azhar, who was responsible for Pulwama terror attack, back to Pakistan? It was then BJP govt which released JeM chief Masood Azhar, why is PM not speaking about it.”

The Gandhi scion, while speaking in Karnataka’s Haveri town, leveled his charges at NSA Ajit Doval and remined people of the Indian Airlines hijack in Kandhar, after which the Indian government had released Masood Azhar on the demands of captive.

Gandhi said, “Ajit Doval, who is the National Security Advisor for the Modi Govt, escorted head of JeM Masood Azhar back to Pakistan. We are not like Narendra Modi, we don't bow down to terrorists.”

Earlier, PM Narendra Modi had taken a jibe at the Congress party for its inefficiency in taking action against the culprits of 26/11 Mumbai attacks and alleged that clear evidence were present against Pakistan but the UPA government remained ineffective.

He had said, “Links of attacks and blasts earlier also were connected to Pakistan, but what did the earlier Govt do? They just changed the Home Minister.”

After the recent Pulwama attack, where India lost more than 40 CRPF personnel, the demands to take stringent action against Pakistan and terrorist groups became a household issue.
