Kerala nun rape accused Bishop Mulakkal stood smiling in court; reminds us if Muzaffarpur shelter home case main accused Brajesh Thakur

Kerala nun rape accused Bishop Franco Mulakkal, the senior Catholic priest of Jalandhar church held by Kerala police for allegedly repeatedly raping and sexually assaulting a nun in Kerala was produced before court in Pala on Saturday. The accused Bishop stood smiling throughout the court hearing.

Bishop, who had stepped down from his post had reminded us of the main accused of Muzaffarpur Shelter home rape case, Brajesh Thakur. He fearlessly walked out of the court with a smiling face.


Mulakkal's bail plea was rejected by the court and was sent for the three days police custody till 24 September. The Kerala police told the court that the former Bishp Mulakkal came to the convent with the intention of sexually assaulting the nun. Franco Mulakkal confined her to a room in the convent guest house on the night of May 5, 2014, the police told the court.

The police added that he raped nun the next day. The nun was subjected to rape and unnatural sex 13 times in the same room between 2014 and 2016, the police said. Franco Mulakkal was held by the Kerala police on Friday night after 87 days of the complaint filed by the victim nun.

Accused Mulakkal was shifted to the police club in Kottayam before being produced before the Magistrate court in Pala.
