An FIR has been filed against Congress president Sonia Gandhi along with a few other Congress members on 7 June in Thiruvananthapuram by the Heather Constructions managing partner for violating a contract.

According to a News 18 report, former Kerala chief minister Oommen Chandy, Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Development Studies Chairman Ramesh Chennithala and Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee president VM Sudheeran are among the Congress leaders who were named in the FIR.

The managing partner has alleged that he was given a contract for the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Development Studies, but Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee is now claiming that it has no money for this project.

Sonia Gandhi had inaugurated the Rajiv Gandhi Institute in Trivandrum.

The project was sanctioned by ex-KPCC chief Chennithala.
