Justice Ranjan Gogoi appointed as the new Chief Justice of India by President Ram Nath Kovind

President of India Ram Nath Kovind on Thursaday has appointed Justice Ranjan Gogoi as the nex Chief Justice of India. He will take the oath of the office on 3 October. He will remain as the Chief Justice till 17 November 2019.

The name of Justice Gogoi, who will assume office on 3 October after current Chief Justice Dipak Mishra, has been proposed by the CJI Dipak Mishra.
