JU professor compares girl’s virginity with sealed bottle says, ‘Virgin girl is like sealed bottle'; gets roasted

In a shameful post, a professor at West Bengal’s Jadavpur University was roasted on social media after he compared a ‘woman’ virginity with a 'sealed bottle' or a 'packet' on a Facebook post. Professor Kanak Sarkar has written several controversial Facebook posts on the topic of a woman's virginity. Most of his posts and contain misogynistic and sexist comments.

Prof Sarkar post, "Virgin Bride - Why Not?" calling boys to fool over being not aware of virgin wife or girl. A professor at the university's international relations, Kanak Sarkar, had written in the post that, "Virgin girl is like a sealed bottle or sealed packet. Are you willing to buy a broken seal while purchasing a bottle of cold drinks or a packet of biscuits... To most boys, the virgin wife is like an angel."


Interestingly, Kanak Sarkar has also been accused of sexual harassment, according to posts on Facebook. However, the details of these allegations are not verified.

Kanak Sarkar, who has more than 20 years of teaching experience and a doctorate was roasted for his ‘misogynistic and sexist comments’ on women’s virginity after his post went viral on social media. Following which he deleted his post and came up with defending explanation.

"I have not written anything against any person, individual or anybody without any evidence or proof or any reference. I am doing social research and writing for the good and well-being of society,” His explanation on Facebook, arguing that it was his personal post and cited freedom of expression.

According to Jadavpur University's website, Kanak Sarkar's specialisation includes political sociology, political thought, the Constitution and government, human rights and law, development administration, and ethnicity and terrorism.
