Jigisha Ghosh murder case: 2 convicts get death sentence, life imprisonment for 1

On 22 August, Delhi's Saket Court pronounced the quantum of punishment in the murder case of Jigisha Ghosh, the IT employee who was robbed and murdered in 2009.

The court awarded death sentence for two of the accused, while the other convict was awarded life imprisonment

On 14 July, the Delhi court held the three accused - Amit Shukla, Baljeet Malik and Ravi Kapoor - guilty in the Jigisha Ghosh murder case. The three were convicted of murder and abduction.

Jigisha, 28, who was working as an operations manager with Hewitt Associate Pvt Ltd, was abducted and killed on 18 March 2009, after she was dropped near her home in the Vasant Vihar area of South Delhi by her official cab at around 4 am.

According to media reports, the three convicts are also accused in the killing of TV journalist Soumya Vishwanathan, who was shot dead on 30 September 2008, while she returning home in her car from work in the wee hours.
