Jayalalithaa's fame will remain forever: DMK Chief Karunanidhi

DMK Supremo M Karunanidhi, on 6 December, offered his condolences over the death of former Tamil Nadu CM Jayalalithaa who passed away at the age of 68 at 11:30pm on 5 December.

Karunanidhi said, "I offer deep condolences on the passing away of Jayalalithaa, wishes of lakhs of her followers will make her immortal."

He further added that Jayalalithaa's fame will remain forever. His son and DMK leader MK Stalin tweeted, "Deeply saddened by the demise of our CM Selvi Jayalalithaa. My deepest condolences to the party cadres & well wishers in this hour of grief."

MK Stalin further tweeted, "She was an iconic & courageous leader. This is an irreparable loss to the people of TamilNadu."

Jayalalithaa was admitted in the Apollo hospitals for the last 75 days. She was admitted after being diagnosed with a lung allergy and complained of dehydration and fever.

School and Colleges to remain closed for 3 days as a mark of respect while Tamil Nadu will be observing a 7-day mourning period.
