News Agencies | Updated on: 6 November 2016, 16:07 IST

Amid escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, another Indian soldier was killed and two others suffered injuries during the cease fire violations in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district.

This came hours after an Indian soldier was killed and a civilian was injured at the RS Pura Sector.

The Indian Armed Forces have been aptly retaliating the heavy firing initiated by the Pakistani Rangers, which began at 2 am today.

Indian Army's northern Command took to its official Twitter handle to declare the incident.

"CFV in Poonch Sector. Being strongly retaliated. Heavy damage to Pak posts. Own one soldier fatal, two injured (sic)," it said.

Today's ceasefire violation takes place three days after two women were killed and a child was severely injured in Manjakote Sector of Rajouri district.

This is the 100th incident of ceasefire violation by Pakistan, following India's surgical strike across the Line of Control (LoC) on 29 September.
