Rajnath Singh made his presence rather felt at the winter session of Parliament today.
His comments about the Indian Constitution (it was ratified by Parliament in 1949, on this day), his devotion towards Dr BR Ambedkar, his problem with the usage of the word 'secular', and a snide remark on Aamir Khan, were unmissable, to say the least.
While one usually feels the compelling need to insert additional humour in memes, Rajnath Singh's quotes most definitely don't need any.
Here's what the Home Minister of India had to say on 'Constitution Day'. Grab some popcorn.
A) Um, so there's something wrong with being 'low strata';
B) Lord Rama was great and encouraged his wife to prove herself 'pure' by jumping into fire?;
C) Wait, what?
And the rest of the Indian Constitution wasn't.
'Jo ho gaya so ho gaya?' Really?
Do we want to snatch the one thing an ostracised community has? Its leader?
But wouldn't a person who doesn't differentiate on the basis of 'sect', also be secular?
Did he just compare Aamir Khan with BR Ambedkar?
