Hyderabad: Lawyer father-son duo held for raping 13-year-old domestic help

In a harrowing incident, a 13-year-old domestic help was allegedly raped by a father and son duo in Hyderabad.

According to reports, the accused, identified as Sudhakar Reddy (65), and Bharat Kumar Reddy (35) who reside in Greenhills Colony in the city's Chaitanyapuri area, were sexually assaulting their domestic help in their apartment. The minor is reportedly pregnant.

"The victim told us that Bharat was forcibly having sexual intercourse with her and Sudhakar used to misbehave with her by deliberately exposing his private parts," TOI quoted Chaitanyapuri inspector G Guru Raghavendra as saying.

The police have registered a case against the father-son duo who are both lawyers, under sections 376 (rape), 354 (assault or use of criminal force to outrage the modesty of a woman) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), sections 3, 4 of the POCSO Act, SC&ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act and the Bonded Labour System (Abolition) Act.

The police is further investigating the matter. The accused have surrendered to the police.
