After Millennium City Gurugram (earlier known as Gurgaon) came to a standstill on the night of 26 July following heavy rains, the price of the chaos has been paid by Navdeep Singh Virk.

Virk has been issued a transfer notice by the Manohar Lal Khattar-led Haryana government. According to media reports, he has been transferred to Rohtak.

As per orders, Sandeep Khirawar will be the new Gurugram police chief.

Virk was among the officers seen on the ground to manage the situation in Gurugram when NH-8 and other areas were flooded.

He was also seen riding a bicycle to water logged areas.

The worst affected areas were problem the Hero Honda Chowk where water-logging triggered kilometres-long jams on NH 8 which connects Gurugram to Delhi.

Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari also ordered NHAI officials to send a team there and help resolve the problem.

Plus, a high-level meeting called by the Chief Secretary will also review the situation in Gurugram.
