A group of suspected terrorists attacked a police station in Gurdaspur district, Punjab, on 27 July.

According to reports, six people died. A gunman was also killed in the attack.

Former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Omar Abdullah, tweeted that the Gurdaspur attacks appear similar to those in Jammu.

"Will be very interested to see what emerges about the identity of the terrorists involved in the Gurdaspur attack this morning," Abdullah tweeted.

"The timing of the attack, methodology & location are all eerily similar to attacks in the border belt of Jammu," he added.
