Goa Police arrest one accused in perfumer Monika Ghurde's murder case

In a major breakthrough, the Goa police today arrested one accused in the murder case of perfume designer Monica Ghurde's murder, according to an ANI report.

The police had on 8 October said that the post-mortem conducted on Ghurde, whose body was found near in Panaji on 6 October, indicated that she was strangulated to death.

The panel of doctors in Goa Medical College and Hospital conducted the post-mortem on the body of 39-year-old Ghurde, who was found dead at her home in Sangolda village.

The accused, identified as Rajkumar Singh, resident of Bhatinda, Punjab, was captured withdrawing money using Ghurde's ATM card, police said. Two men were seen in the camera of an ATM at Porvorim, about 3 km from Ghurde's residence.

Ghurde hailed from Nagpur and was married to a photographer Bharat Ramamrutham from Tamil Nadu and was residing at Porvorim near Panaji before she got separated from her husband and shifted to Sangolda this year.
