Know where are his spectacles?

It was the matter of the year 1999 and in the month of December, a gardener managing the lawn where the statue is, then, his eyes noticed the ‘murti’ of Mahatma Gandhi, the famous sculpture looked different. He watched the statue and found that his spectacles were missing.

Later, the matter was reported to the Chanakyapuri Police station by the maintenance agency of the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) but Police didn’t report the matter as First Information Report (FIR) rather they maintain it as a diary entry.

Now, 18 years have been passed to this issue but Delhi Police unnoticed the matter and no action has been taken till now.

As per the police, they were tried to catch the thieves but they were unable to trace the people. However, the police picket was permanently set up at the junction to stop such activities in the future.

While NDMC officials said that they have attempted four times to replace the original glasses but every time Gandhi spectacles were stolen.

Likewise, every year, it seems like that this year also Gandhi statue would not get his eyewear.
