Fire at Ministry office in CGO Complex in Central Delhi, security personnel injured

A massive fire broke out at Pandit Deendayal Antyodaya Bhawan at CGO Complex in New Delhi Wednesday morning. As many as 24 fire tenders are present at the spot to douse the blaze. According to ANI reports, the blaze was reported from the office of Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment on 5th floor of Pandit Deendayal Antyodaya Bhawan at CGO Complex. 

A security officer has been injured and taken to the hospital. The fire department was alerted a little after 8:30 am.


As per reports, the blaze that started on the fifth floor of the Pandit Deendayal Antyodaya Bhawan near the busy Lodhi Road has been brought under control.

Many government offices, including a branch of the Indian Air Force, Water and Sanitation Ministry, the Forest Ministry and the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), are housed in the Antyodaya Bhawan. Till 2016 the building was called Paryavaran Bhawan.

More details are awaited. The incident comes days after a massive fire at a hotel in Karol Bagh claimed 17 lives.
