'Welcome back captain': Devendra Fadnavis takes oath as Maharashtra CM; Twitter floods with congratulatory messages

A big twist has come in Maharashtra government formation after Devendra Fadnavis took oath as Maharashtra Chief Minister for a second term at Raj Bhavan this morning. While Nationalist Conference Party chief Sharad Pawar’s nephew sworn in on Saturday as Deputy CM.

 


The news has come as major trouble for oppositions National Conference Party (NCP), Shiv Sena and Congress who were planning to form government till yesterday. During the joint meeting on Friday, the three parties decided that Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray will be the Chief Minister.

After a tussle between BJP and Shiv Sena over CM candidates, Maharashtra was placed under President’s Rule.

According to a Home Ministry notification, President Ram Nath Kovind issued the proclamation for revocation of the central rule this morning. The President's Rule was revoked at 5:47 am today.

 

As of now, Maharashtra surprisingly gets its CM. Maharashtra CM Fadnavis told ANI, “I would like to express my gratitude to NCP's Ajit Pawar ji, he took this decision to give a stable government to Maharashtra & come together with BJP. Some other leaders also came with us and we staked claim to form a government.”

 

 

Ajit Pawar after taking oath as Deputy CM:

"From result day to this day no party was able to form Govt, Maharashtra was facing many problems including farmer issues, so we decided to form a stable Govt."

 

After this news broke out, Twitter has flooded with miscellaneous reactions. BJP supporters are congratulating Devendra Fadnavis for his second term. While many people applaud Amit Shah for his ‘Chanakya Niti’.
