Delhi: Women can travel for free in all DTC buses on the occasion of 'Bhai Dooj'

The Delhi government on 31 October announced that the women can travel travel for free in all Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) buses on the occassion of 'Bhai Dooj'.

Delhi Transport Minister Satyendar Jain made the announcement yesterday asserting that all the AC, non-AC and cluster buses will provide free travel facility. Adding that the initiative has been taken so that the women around the national capital can travel without any hindrance throughout to meet their family members and celebrate Bhai Dooj.

He affirmed that all necessary formalities have been completed in this regard and relevant orders issued to the concerned officials for implementation.

On the day of the festival, sisters invite their brothers for a lavish meal often including their favourite dishes. The whole ceremony signifies the duty of a brother to protect his sister, as well as a sister's blessings for her brother
