A drunk woman in east Delhi’s Jagatpuri was caught by the police after she tried to almost run over another woman and her toddler. Then, she touched the victim inappropriately in front of a crowd and beat her.

The police reached the spot and caught her after a local resident informed the police control room that a woman in a Maruti Swift Dzire had been creating nuisance. Yet, she has not been arrested as the victim did not record her statement.

According to the police, the medical test of the accused, who was returning home after a party, revealed a high dose of alcohol in her blood. The police registered a case under IPC sections 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult modesty of a woman) and 279 (punishment for rash driving) and under the motor vehicles act at the Jagatpuri police station.

It was the resident who told the police that the accused woman was driving recklessly and almost ran over the other woman her kids who were walking on a footpath. They reached the spot after the victim woman cried for help. The victim was beaten up after she confronted the accused.
