Delhi BJP chief and parliamentarian Manoj Tiwari’s helicopter has made emergency landing in Uttarakhand after a storm and heavy rain struck the state.

The actor-turned politician would be contesting the Lok Sabha election of 2019 from Delhi and is a star campaigner for the BJP.

As per officials present at the spot, the helicopter which took off from Haldwani post 2:30 pm in afternoon from Dehradun, had to immediately land due to strong winds blowing in the region and the rain, storm had hit the capital city.

In the unprecedented situation, even after landing the blades of the chopper could not be stopped and hence, it became tough for the pilot to evacuate the passengers, along with Manoj Tiwari. The pilot had to then ask the passengers to exit the helicopter immediately, before any unforeseen situation arises.

Manoj Tiwari was on a campaign trail to Uttarakhand for the BJP as the General election is bound to begin in next three days and it will go on until May 19. The result will be declared by the Election Commission on May 23.

BJP had won all the 7 seats of Delhi in the 2014 Lok Sabha election, defeating the main opponent Congress and Aam Aadmi Party. Manoj Tiwari, who also won the polls under the Modi wave, has been campaigning for the party in a city, where the Aam Aadmi Party and Congress are plying to tie-up ahead of the election.
