Delhi: At least 17 people dead and several injured after a fire broke out at a hotel in Karol Bagh; see pics

A shocking incident took place in Delhi’s Karol Bagh where at least 17 people were killed and several were critically injured in a major fire that broke out on Tuesday, officials said.

 


 

However, fire tenders were rushed to the place after Delhi Fire Service officials said they received a call at 4:35 am about the fire at Hotel Arpit Palace on Gurudwara Road of Karol Bagh area.

Reportedly, the reason behind the fire was the short circuit on the 4th floor of the hotel.

 

 

As per the deputy chief fire officer Sunil Chaudhary, 26 fire tenders were rushed to the spot and also said that 25 personnel were evacuated from the hotel. While two people jumped out of the building due to getting panic.

Meanwhile, the fire has been doused and bodies of the people are being taken out now from the hospital. Moreover, the rescue operation is still underway, ANI reported.
