United States Defence Secretary James Mattis arrived for his maiden visit to Pakistan since taking charge of the Pentagon, on Monday.

He was received by officials from the defence and foreign ministries at the Nur Khan Airbase, Chaklala.

The US defence secretary is expected to meet Pakistan Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa.

The Vice-President of Congress Rahul Gandhi filed nomination for the post of party chief on 4th December.

3- MP passes bill awarding death sentence to rape convicts

The Madhya Pradesh Assembly on Monday unanimously passed a bill awarding death sentence to accused in cases of rape and gangrape of girls below 12 years.

Speaking at the assembly, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said the perpetrators raping the minors have no right to live.
