Uunderworld don Dawood Ibrahim's nephew, Sohail Kaskar, was arrested by the United States authorities in December 2015, for narco-terrorism.

According to a report in the Times of India, 36-year-old Kaskar has been arrested for conspiring to commit narco-terrorism, provide material support to a foreign terrorist organisation and unlawfully sell missile launching systems. The terrorist group is Colombia's FARC (Spanish acronym for Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia).

Along with Kaskar, two other Pakistan nationals, Pirzada Hameed Chisti aka Benny, and Abdul Wahab Chisti aka Angel were reportedly arrested by the United States' Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) in December 2015, after being extradited from Spain.

According to the report, Ibrahim and his associates reportedly tried their best to suppress the news from spreading to prevent a blow to his 'international image'.

Sohail, alias Ali Danish, is Dawood's deceased younger brother Noora's older son.

Dawood was reportedly unhappy with his nephew for not keeping him in the loop about his dealings and is said to be embarrassed about his arrest.

The Manhattan federal court had reportedly charged Kaskar for supplying surface-to-air missiles to FARC and for bringing drugs from Pakistan into the US.

According to media reports, he can face a maximum sentence of life in jail and a mandatory minimum term of 25 years in prison.

Meanwhile Dawood Ibrahim continues to live in hiding.
