A day ahead of the death anniversary of Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist Burhan Wani, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has taken preventive measures in Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) to stop possible disturbances.
CRPF Public Relations Officer Rajesh Kumar said, "Security has been beefed up in the region. The night area domination has been strengthened."
Kumar said there is a possibility of militant organisations trying to instigate the youth to follow their directions.
"House arrests have been made, the chronic stone pelters have been picked up", he added.
The security forces and intelligence agencies are apprehending trouble in the Kashmir Valley on Wani's death anniversary.
According to reports, terror outfits have planned to observe the anniversary. Hurriyat leaders and Hizbul supreme commander Syed Salahuddin have called for a complete shutdown tomorrow and chalked out the week's protest calendar.
Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh yesterday chaired a high-level meeting to review the security scenario in Jammu and Kashmir ahead of Wani's first death anniversary.
