Coronavirus in India Updates: 114 deaths in India, over 4,400 positive cases for COVID-19

India is witnessing the continuous rise in a number of positives cases for Coronavirus. As per the latest updates, the COVID-19 cases surge to 4,421 after 354 new cases reported in the last 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry said. While 114 deaths have been claimed due to the contagious virus.

The number of cases has been increased a day after the country recorded 704 cases in a day.


In the wake of rising in cases, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has asked people to be ready for a long fight while asking ministers to plan a slow exit from the lockdown.

So far, 1,347,689 positive cases have been reported across the globe and 74,783 people have died in the pandemic that has affected around 180 nations across the world.

According to the latest reports, cases of coronavirus in China (the epicenter of the virus) have been dwindling since March. In the US, the number of cases has been increased day-by-day.

Even the UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who has been tested positive, was shifted to the intensive care unit after his condition worsened.

Earlier on Monday, Union Minister Prakash Javadekar said, “the government is monitoring the world situation every minute and lockdown will be removed at the right time.”

Amidst this mayhem, the world is celebrating the World Health Day and PM Modi also tweeted, “This #WorldHealthDay, let us also ensure we follow practices like social distancing which will protect our own lives as well as the lives of others. May this day also inspire us towards focusing on personal fitness through the year, which would help improve our overall health.”

 

He also wrote, “Today on #WorldHealthDay, let us not only pray for each other’s good health and well-being but also reaffirm our gratitude towards all those doctors, nurses, medical staff and healthcare workers who are bravely leading the battle against the COVID-19 menace.”

Due to the pandemic outbreak, Prime Minister Modi called a 21-day nationwide lockdown from March 25 to April 14 during his address to the nation on March 24.
