Comedian Kapil Sharma lashes out at PM Narendra Modi; accuses BMC of seeking bribes

Neither is comedian Kapil Sharma smiling and nor does he find the current situation funny. Why? Because he was asked to bribe the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) Rs 5 lakh as he is getting his office constructed. Using his Twitter handle, he lashed out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and asked, "Yeh hain aapke achhe din?"

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis reached out to the fuming comedian and assured him of strictest action against the corrupt officials responsible.

"Kapil bhai pls provide all info. Have directed MC, BMC to take strictest action. We will not spare the culprit," CM Fadnavis tweeted.

Meanwhile, the BMC has requested Sharma to make a formal complaint and tell them the name of the officer who demanded the bribe from him.

"BMC will take strict action if allegations are true. BMC doesn't tolerate this kind of corruption in its departments," M Pawar, Chief Engineer, Vigilance, told ANI.

Earlier in the day, the host of the Kapil Sharma Show vent his agitation on Twitter and said, "I am paying 15 cr income tax from last 5 year n still i have to pay 5 lacs bribe to BMC office for making my office @narendramodi. Yeh hain aapke achhe din ? (these are your achhe din?)."
