The government has decided to declassify files related to Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose.

The decision was taken after Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose's family, at 7, Race Course Road.

The process will start on 23 January, Subhsh Chandra Bose's birth anniversary.

The PM also said that the government will ask the Russian government to declassify files on Subhash Chandra Bose.

The declassification may help in solving the unending mystery surrounding Netaji's death in 1945, reportedly in a plane crash in Formosa, now Taiwan.
