BJP slams Nawaz Sharif, says he was at his pathetic best at the UNGA

Lashing out at Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif over his speech at the United Nations General Assembly yesterday, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on 22 September described his speech as pathetic and accused him of talking like the supreme commander of Hizbul Mujahideen.

BJP general secretary Ram Madhav said, "Nawaz Sharif at the UN was at his pathetic best. He talked not like the supreme commander of Pakistan, but he talked like the supreme commander of the Hizbul Mujahideen. He was openly campaigning for their deceased commander Burhan Wani. Burhan Wani was the south Kashmir area commander of the UN designated terror organisation called Hizbul Mujahideen."

"It is so pathetic to see the Pakistan PM campaigning for the cause of UN designated terror organisation. It clearly shows that there is no need for any further explanation and we can straightaway declare Pakistan as a terrorist state," he added.

Madhav further said that at the diplomatic level, India has already given a befitting response to Pakistan and would respond to its Uri misadventure at multiple levels.

Earlier, Pakistan's Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said, "Burhan Wani, the young leader murdered by Indian forces, has emerged as the symbol of the latest Kashmiri Intifada, a popular and peaceful freedom movement, led by Kashmiris."

Wani (22) was killed by the Indian security forces in an encounter on 8 July. He was prolific on social media and used the same to reach out to the youth while spreading the message of jihad.

His killing has triggered massive protests in Kashmir.
