With an aim to telecast a countrywide grand show of nationalism, Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) is trying to reach out to every house in India. A 'Tiranga Yatra', conducted by the BJP, will witness the leaders of the ruling party reaching out to every household.

The yatra will be led by party MPs in the parliamentary constituency singing Vande Mataram and Bharat Mata Ki Jai. The idea of Tiranga Yatra came in 2016 by PM Narendra Modi. The Prime Minister has asked the BJP members to celebrate the occasion of Independence day for 15 days from August 16 to August 31 this year.

Delhi BJP president Manoj Tiwari, who will be leading the yatra said, “PM Modi wants Tiranga Yatra to be a regular feature of the Independence Day celebrations in India. All BJP MPs, MLAs and other prominent leaders will take out the yatra in their areas and appeal to citizens to hoist the national flag for 15 days.”

The BJP members have been told not to use four-wheelers during the march. Tiwari further said, “The idea behind the Tiranga Yatra is to remind the countrymen of our martyrs and their supreme sacrifices. The national flag is a symbol which could instill the feeling of nationalism among the countrymen and have that unifying effect on the masses.”
