A lot of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) lawmakers on Wednesday gave their good wishes to the people of India just as Prime Minister Narendra Modi set out for Uttar Pradesh’s Ayodhya to join in the bhoomi pujan for the construction of the long awaited Ram mandir.

From Union Home Minister Amit Shah to Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, many Union ministers and BJP lawmakers posted their words on Twitter.

Amit Shah, who became infected with coronavirus, had taken to his official twitter handle to post a digital image of the proposed Ram temple.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also shared a few lines from the poem Ramcharitmanas, written by Tulsidas, and retweeted pictures of the temple town shared by the Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra.

UP CM Yogi Adityanath also posted a few lines from the Ramcharitmanas, the tale of Lord Ram in Awadhi language, and extended his best wishes.

“Dear Ram devotees, greetings to you, congratulations to you. Jai Shri Ram!” he said.

Another BJP leader who put out a tweet was Smriti Irani. She shared a bhajan sung by a little girl Sooryagayathri.

Devendra Fadnavis, the former Maharashtra chief minister also shared a video.

“Lord Ramji’s temple had to be built had to become a Mandir. This is the temple of faith of millions of Ram devotees. Jai Shri Ram,” he said.

BJP leader Pragya Singh Thakur also tweeted saying that she was elated and speechless ahead of the ceremony.

“Today, the mind is elated, happy, ecstatic. I am speechless I the bliss and all I can say is just that-Jai Shri Ram, the work is done. Jai Shri Ram, Jai Shri Ram, Jai Shri Ram, Jayshriram, Jai Shri Ram,” Pragya tweeted.

The historic ceremony for the Ram temple marks the end of a religious dispute that goes all the way back to 1885 when a Hindu priest petitioned the local court to build a temple where the 16th-century Babri Masjid stood.

Several kar sevaks, Hindu religious volunteers, razed the mosque and destoryed it on 6th December, 1992. A political unrest broke out that emanated to the ousting of the state government even as a spate of communal riots engulf India, claiming the life of thousands across the country.
